The French and Americans have re-enforced their bases out there and our guys have been training there so I suspect plans are already afoot.

Did we arm and finance these guys too during the glorious Arab Spring...

Might be a useful distraction from NATO's usual day-to-day of prodding Putin with a stick to see how cross we can make him.

Aye, doesn't seem to get much airtime (sorry for the pun) in the popular media. Putin's certainly no angel, putting it mildly, but IMO the whole approach of the EU and NATO to the stability and democratic affairs of Ukraine has been pretty bad too.

Time to engineer an Isis versus Taliban scenario.

No no no, just sell weapons to both sides, then look surprised when they band together and turn against western powers.

Wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose of getting the one group to shoot at the other? Not sure I follow your logic. old boy.

Arms manufactures could make a killing that way, I didn't get where I am today without making the difficult decisions or by not shooting my friends in the face.

I'm sure we could set ISIS against the Taliban with a suitable Twitter campaign. Probably rope in Boko Haram too, sort 'em all out in one go.

That's about what I was thinking. Should escalate nicely - it doesn't seem to take much.

Invade, remove all who have a problem with living a balanced moderate life (going to be a lot of folks to get rid of) take a large percentage of oil revenue and create infrastructure (schools communications) Oohhhh and put an executive management team in like the old days (East India Company Style) job done, ahhhh to have a proper Empire again.

Or Binners approach but I prefer an old fashioned empire.

Elephant in the room time - Question "are the majority of these countries actually fit to govern themselves" as outside of some form of Dictatorship there is little evidence to show that democracy has actually worked.

I'd make the slackers pay their fair share! 😡

Members' defense spending is supposed to amount to 2 percent of GDP. link 1

Only a few spend what they're supposed to! 🙄 link 2

Yes, and notice it's those countries that are first in line for a resurgent third shock army that have been scrimping the most!

I'd be warming up the T.A.D.'s and getting ready to deploy the A.B.C. Warriors as well as breaking out the Stubb Guns.

Only 20odd years off schedule, is possible.
