Unless you’re riding in a crowd I think it fits the definition. Maybe you should wear a tabard with ‘unclean’ on it to warn ramblers etc to keep their distance just to be safe. (If it works let me know and I might start wearing one too, I’m an unsociable git).

Yeah, this exact thing came up in a thread yesterday in fact.👍

Consensus seemed to be just don't kiss any ramblers you meet along the way. Both for medical and sex offender reasons.

You do need to go to your LBS and stock up on all the inter tubes and lube that they have though before you isolate

If you are in self isolation won't you be feeling ill?

If you get covid-19.. you could be extremely ill. If you've ever had the flu you'll know what it's like for your bones to be aching, shivering hot hallucinations and a near drowning like cough.
If I was in isolation id be saving energy and preparing to be ill or very ill for 2-3 weeks.

If I'm self isolating I'll be out on my bike every day looking for angry skip lorry drivers to cough over.

Plenty folks get better after a few days of mild symptoms apparently

But regardless, you don't need to be Ill to self isolate. I find it pretty astonishing (and kinda worrying) that anyone doesn't know this. It's been all over the news!!

You need cause to suspect you might be though. I fancy 2 weeks off work isn't self isolation it's skiving. my mate can back from lombardy and developed a filthy cold after we went to the pub but I feel OK is acceptable grounds to think it might be a good idea.

In the first case is not be thinking "I might feel really rubbish in a few days" in the second is be thinking "how close to the bathroom can I sleep"

I said 'could' be very ill.
You won't know till you get it.
You might be fine.. but then again you may drown in your own sputum or have organ failure (1-3% chance).

If you do venture out.. Maybe treat it as that one last ride just in case...

There is no need to self isolate unless you’ve been in close contact with a confirmed case, someone else who was in close contact with confirmed case or those recently returned from a high risk area. It’s all over the news, NHS websites and PHE.

Exactly my point. Self isolating doesn't mean you have the virus so you may feel absolutely fine

but then again you may drown in your own sputum or have organ failure (1-3% chance).

More so if older for sure , but if you are under 50 and in good health the chances of dying from it are probably close to 1/1000

My biggest concern about getting it is passing it on to my elderly parents

Seems like some people are more accustomed to self isolation than they realise

If you were prescribed some tablets and but the label said chances were 1 in 1000 that it would kill you would you take them? What if 1 in 1000 flights ended in a crash - would air travel be popular?
