Why is the government now on it's fourth construction minister this year?
It's also the ninth in four years.
That is some way short of a ringing endorsement for the national importance of construction.

I think there has also been three different Health Ministers in the last 12ish months. Sadly this is politics, nothing to do with right/wrong/longevity/stability 🙁

Or, for that matter, competence/ability.

I think Labour could - and should - make much of the revolving door of ministerial appointments as it clearly points to government instability, inconsistent policy making and uncertainty about objectives.
All of these mean the government is not delivering on behalf of the population.
Strong and stable? Try weak and unstable.

I was hoping this thread would be about the longstanding lowest price tender culture, led by Government, which is the fundamental reason for the low quality culture in construction.

You could say the same of pretty much any ministry. Bin-fire government operating on objectives other than doing the job of government.

Whats interesting is the severance packages for those ministers - they each only have to be in post for 3 weeks to get a full ministerial severance package. So many will be paid more for not being a minister than they got in post -  We (the tax payer) have funded dozens and dozens of ex-minsiters and have  spent  approaching £1m in the last year or so in payments to people who are no longer ministers and who didnt do much as a minister when they were.
