Petition against IDS knighthood here
http://chng.it/j8Ss4kN9Bn
I predict a failed petition
Pretty sure the Tories have no shame!
Have any of these online petitions actually achieved anything?
That website is a bit of a nutters charter.
A 'thank you' letter to Jeremy Corbyn. Have they not heard of stamps?
Ban a Jesus film on Netflix. Or just don't watch it?
You might as well go and shout into the night.

Or if you like your neighbors just go on Twitter for the same effect with more hashtags.

There was a point where of the top 10 petitions, 4 were about stuff that had been made up by the tabloid press. Certainly achieved something but just not really what you'd hope.

Reminded me of this cartoon 😁

Well when the queen brings the sword down I hope she suddenly develops Parkinsons, really violently.
Just for a few seconds.
IDS is pure scum.
Not the first time the Tories have rewarded an utter bastard?

See, I go the other way- let's get all the knights together and stage an assassination attempt on the queen, then see who fulfils their knightly duty and takes a bullet.
IDS knighted - cant for the life of me see why people are surprised.
Have Farages claims about being offered a knighthood been investigated yet?

The only one I can think of was to stop the sale of most FC land to private investors. That one was quite effective
IDS is pure scum.
He really isn't..it's all a bit more complicated than that.
Yeah I agree on that, like he's very refined scum.
Still scum though.
That image up there of IDS punching his fists is from when George Osborne announced a rise in the National Living Wage to £9 by 2020. Should he have been saddened that it wasn't left alone?
EDIT: or perhaps the organizers of that petition are just upset that shareholders of companies with lots of low-paid staff are going to lose out?

I’m nearly there after my pay-rise earlier this month, so hoping it’ll top £9 after my next one.

I don't think anything he's ever said was taken seriously by anyone.
And yet here we are...

Indeed. I think this "haha own the libs" meme I saw the other day is actually surprisingly accurate. At least 5 more years of this.

Nah, that was a media/messaging coup, renaming the minimum wage "the living wage" but not actually making it anything like a living wage or tying future changes to costs of living was sick genius. All his fellow shitehawks were right to celebrate.
And it's still paying off today- the current rise is being celebrated as a huge boon for workers even though it's actually less than what Osborne promised in 2015.
And in true Tory style, because they previously announced that they were only going to increase it to £8.67 instead of the promised £9, adding 5p to that reduced rate and making it £8.72 instead of £9 can be announced as a massive increase.
And the new rate is still only £8.72, while the real Living Wage is £9.30, or £10.75 in London.
But th truth takes 4 paragraphs to type while "5p more than expected on living wage increase" doesn't.

My friend actually sent me the Youtbue clip immediately after the GE results.
It is so funny.🤣

I think there are a lot of people who took what he has said very seriously, which is why we are where we are as a country.
