Are there any?
I know you're supposed to "eat enough not to need dessert" but frankly that's bobbins.
Any one have any ideas?
A related question - why not eat low-GI fruit such as mangoes ?
No. Desserts are sweet, idave diet is all about not eating sugar. You don't need dessert, mtfu.
Why is it bobbins? You dont need dessert, you just think you do. Just need a while to re train yourself. If you must then I guess some fage yoghurt with some low gi fruit or nuts would be fine.
you want [s]dessert[/s] pudding, eat pudding. Just ride a little further
Hmmmm, there's sugar in pretty much every veg. I thought Idiet was about avoiding "refined" sugars and starches.
Yes, whilst I don't "need" dessert, it would be nice occasionally, I'm not interested in living like a monk or beating myself up with food, Time to get creative I think.
Have a look online for some keto-compatible desserts, probably easier to find than searching idiet 🙂
I was on a keto diet for about 4-5 months, did feel a lot less bloated and stuff but it is so joyless. After a while I couldn't stop thinking about lighter-tasting foods and something a bit sweet! Still don't eat half as many carbs as I used to now I'm off it though.
90% chocolate is nice for a small "treat" and I don't think it always has too much sugar.
Thanks, trying to work out whether buckwheat or splet is more or less compatable 🙂
Thinking blueberry muffin sort of thing.

Amen brother.
If you want it occasionally then have it occasionally. It won't wreck the whole thing - idiet is not all-or-noting. Just don't have it all the time 🙂 The principle of the diet is to minimise insulin production. The less insulin you make your body produce, the better you'll do. However you always produce some when you eat, and even if you don't follow religiously you'll still be producing far less than even a traditional healthy diet.

Yes - but not much - not as much as rhubarb and custard 🙂

This is based on research that suggests fructose itself is lipogenic through some other mechanism, despite being low GI. And with modern fruit being so sweet they are packed with loads of fructose. This is why tomatoes are ok, despite being fruit, and sweetcorn is out, despite being a vegetable.
You can make nice sweet stuff with ground almonds as opposed to flour. It has a lot of calories though so kind of defeats the point if you have lots of it.
