A friend posted this on FB. It's on a ex navy estate.

Anyone able to identify it?

The satellite view you can see a V shaped wall on it's north side. (Some kind of blast wall?)

If it has very thick walls and flimsy roof it's an old munitions store and may have been too much trouble to demolish when the estate was put up.

Equally, could be a chamber underneath which is why it's been left as a green space.

Local history FB groups are a mine of information about stuff like this.

Ammunition magazine.

For storage of ammo - THick walls / thin roof  so that if it explodes the blast is directed upwards.

I'm going to opt for a old sewage pumping station.

Well it's not on the Defence of Britain website so not a pillbox or similar anti-invasion structure. https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/archives/view/dob/index.cfm

You could try contacting the Council for British Archaeology via info@archaeologyuk.org

Who was it on here to totally overbuilt a garage for storing two bikes? If so, that users garden.
