We found a couple of these on a South Coast beach. They were covering/encrusting cockles or small scallops.  Google just seems to find NZ species. IMG_20241124_151617

For future reference.  Possibly Ophlitaspongia papilla.. not usually found in South East but it was during Storm Bert and things were pretty whipped up.
