Hi all, we are organising a medical congress on behalf of a customer (big company) and our customer wants to run a competition with a prize for one of the delegates. But I'm completely stuck as to what the prize should be?
Brief is maximum spend of £200. New or innovative technology is desirable, and it must be something that is going to appeal and get people to sign up to the competition.
I can't say I'm on the pulse when it comes to the latest gadgets and technology so any ideas really appreciated.
Thought I'd put this out to the masses as my brain already hurts and is failing to function properly!
The obvious answer would be an iPad but the cheapest is double your budget.
Another option could be a Kindle but probably too cheap and may now lack the wow factor. It is a shame that the Kindle Fire is yet to be launched as that would be perfect.
Maybe a top notch DAB/Internet radio would fit the bill? - I love my Roberts STREAM 83i
Ipod and get the company name etc engraved on the back.
Medical you say?
Knowing the odd doctor or two, I'd say either a 200 quid bottle of whiskey, or 200 quid's worth of whiskey.
Failing that, iPod nano, Nike+ thingy and the wrist strap. Encourage them to get fit...
Isn't the idea to get the brand/product name remembered? So not necessarily something the customer themselves will use. You will have to excuse me as I'm unsure whether the delegates are employees of the organiser or potential customers (#businessspeakgoeswrong).
How about one of these with the brand name tattoed on it?
What about a tattoo?
Whiskey - you know the medical profession too well!
Like the idea of a tattoo but can't see many people signing up for that one!
Digital radio a good idea, as is the iPod!
Keep em coming :o)
Go Pro HD Hero? Nice little toy if you haven't got one.
is there a big of desirable medical equipment that docs want but can't really justify it on their budget sheets? like the bone density scanner will smith was trying to flog in 'the persuit of happyness'?
Don Simon, the delegates are not employees of the company so getting the brand name on the prize is a good idea.
I'm a regular exhibitor at medical science & similar conferences.
The giveaways have two purposes: to attract people / business cards to the stand, and to make the company memorable.
A raffle giveaway is the former. A Kindle with Amazon vouchers for downloading stuff fits the bill. We've used that very successfully. How about 1 x Kindle and 3x runner-up bottles of good whisky?
For stand traffic, chocolate / free drinks seem to work best.
Pens can just be grabbed without stopping.
For "memory" giveaways, Post-its and rulers seem better than pens where the logo is invisible most of the time.
How about the winner gets a one to one tutorial from tj on the power of branding. 2nd prize is a helmet. 3rd prize is two helmets. 🙂
these things are great, we gave a few away to various people, cheap as well:
My partner is a medical professional, given the current cuts she gets very excited about getting a free pen whenever she attends anything.
Thanks everyone for the great ideas. I have enough to go on now so will be making some suggestions.
Can now stop thinking about work and start planning the weekend's biking activities instead :o)
Decent Littman stethoscope. Dont forget, medical people like pens and lanyards, everything else is a waste... Pens and lanyards all the way!
black pens, always black.
