We have cleared out some conifers and general rubbish from the bottom of the garden leaving us with a bit of space . I want to do something for our two boys , 5 and 1 . Thinking a small climbing wall with a rope bridge leading to a slide with maybe a den under the bridge . I would like to build it myself .
Anyone done anything similar ? ideas and experiences would be welcome , pics would be great .
Mud hole, kids love mud !

As well as slide or swing, think about sand, muck, loose parts, den building, boulder, mound, tree and hidey holes with seating.
Many years ago I built what you are speaking of - the kids got more use from climbing on the roof via neighbours fence, digging, moving rocks (and smashing them), borrowing nails and hammer etc etc.
There was a Facebook post about a mini parkour/ninja warrior course that looked cool, with a bit of ingenuity it could work for different ages.
