...the saga continues !
since arrival of dog cat has moved upstairs, the only way out is via the cat flap in the kitchen which is where the dog lives.
The cat on occasion goes out of the bathroom window jumps onto small flat roof and away into the abyss of suburbia !
I have been thinking that if she could access the house through the bathroom this would solve a few issues.
Ideas so far
length of guttering from window sill to flat roof
blank of wood
Obviously its got to be access proof for cat only and not a potential thief
All ideas welcome
escatlator?
Our (admittedly adopted feral so a fair bit smaller and more muscular than the average cat) would climb upto the 2nd floor of his own accord, that involved a 4ft wall with a 4ft wooden fence with spiked tops, from that upto a 12ft wall, across a pitched roof, then leap the gap between that building and the flat roof 2 storey extension to ours and into the 2nd floor window.
We made him a ramp but he ignored it.
He'd do all that carrying rabbits as big as he was.
CTFU?
lightweight wooden steps bracketed to the wall?
Too weak for a hooman, fine for a cat.
Edit: eschatliers, just to join in

Move the dog?
Reckon there's a chance your Cat will find somewhere else to live.
What you need is a [s]p[/s]caternoster
..and today's winner of the internet is..

Would the cat go upside down if it went over the top of the [s]p[/s]caternoster?
We had this problem with the back fence, now he's getting on a bit the drop from the fence was a bit too much so I built a walkway and shelf for him to get down with,
It took a bit for him to get used to it but he's up and down it all the time now,

Yep sounds like a cat.... ours would always ignore whatever we did unless it was convenient... including food... once pulled the catflap apart carting in rabbits one weekend we were away... right mess when we got back
Move the dog?
The dog will never get back in through the bathroom window, be realistic...

Really? No-one?
My dads neighbor in Zurich has one of these for his second floor flat! It sticks out a bit more than this and finished in alu. The cat happily wonders up and down a few times a day, year round.

Impossible to know, so assume it remains upright *and* upsidedown.
I'm uncertain whether Rob's reply is the best or not.
