Ok. My wife has access to an iMac, uses regularly an iPad and iPhone. when she first got them I foolishly assumed that she wanted everything off the iMac and synced it all with the iPad and iPhone and then hooked it all up to the iCloud.
BAD MOVE
She didn't want everything from the iMac. I then spent 4 days deleting all she didn't want off the iPad and iPhone and she has gone on using them both independently and not synced with the Mac for the past year.
She now wants to hook the iPad and iPhone up to the iCloud. But when I go to change the settings on, say, Contacts it says that all the contacts that were last synced with the iMac will be merged with the iCloud.
THIS WOULD BE A BAD THING.
What do I do ?
What I want to do is just delete the iMac off the iCloud, really, I would like the iCloud to forget that the iMac ever existed.
Anyone got any ideas ??? Maybe a new account ?????
Please help !
I'm having issues with the cloud myself at the moment. Pain in the backside!
i Mac
System Preferences
I cloud
Tick what services your wife doesn't want backing up to the i mac
I've had a look as I have a similar set up but everything I have syncs.
Good Luck
As Slowmart says, but back-up the iMac first. Sometimes the whole thing goes wrong and you end up with nothing anywhere!
As above
but if you still have trouble book up an meeting with one of Apple's Genius
at your nearest store, and they will help you out free of charge.
A friend of mine lost all their contacts using icloud for the first time and wasn't able to retrieve them despite lots of effort and calls to Apple 🙁
