Now this is flipping ACE. Where can one go live where this could become the commute to work? Looks to have a lot of pace on at some points, lever on right looks like gear lever so am thinking 70/80mph....

I'd go on holiday somewhere just to do that.

As that's normally flowing water that's frozen it must absolutely bloody freezing not just pretty damned cold!
Looks so much fun though. Excellent carnage for a stag do.

That looks amazing!
I'd like to try it somewhere warm though because I don't like the cold.

You probably wouldn't like it - the description says Novaya Mayna, which appears to be a place in Russia near Tolyatti which is the birthplace of LADA cars. It also mentions CZ250 in description so most likely powered by a 250 CC engine from an old CZ motocross bike, there were plenty of them around in the old Soviet Union. IIRC they're two-stroke engines, so quite mad 😀

Off to Finland in a few weeks time for Christmas. It will be about the fifth time I have been there and always wanted to do Ice Karting but never got around to doing it. There is a frozen lake close to where we stay that run sessions. Maybe this time...

Wife from Estonia and Sister in law has a large pond on their land - about 10 years ago, we went quad biking on the pond, where in the summer we swim! Was great fun. Cant go as fast as that though as not enough space to get the speed up, however quad bike is far heavier!

250cc gearbox carts can top 140mph. It's difficult to tell the speed from the footage, but it looks faster than 70.

They did this in my local ice rink a couple of years ago, was awesome fun.

My Wife and I in Tandem drifting the whole way round was a proud moment.

I was looking at the riverbank scenery to try and judge the speed as they are properly tanking on. It has to be at least 70 or 80 but it wouldn't surprise me if they were cracking a ton in places 😮

I've been to Finland several times and I actually did this near to Saariselka in about 2010.

The Karts we drove weren't quite as powerful and no gears - but we probably hit 40mph and with no differential in the rear axle and studded tyres they went sideways around every single bend in the track.

The very best Karting experience ever - you should definitely have a go!

If anyone wants an experience similar to this, Rookin House activity centre in the Lake District does go karting in the barn they keep the horses in - the karts are RWD, rear brake only and the track is covered in a film of horse turds which have a grip coefficient of zero. It's the best fun I've ever had in a thing with an engine.

Did the karting yesterday, best fun I have ever had in a go-kart. They had spiked tyres but traction was still scarce!!
Can't post photos from phone but may do if I remember when we get home.
