Heading there soon for a blast I should have been on 20 years ago!

Any advice for a retired 90's house music fan at 40?

Ibiza port then Pacha then Space or DC10. ignore age, it's irrelevant in ibiza. You'll see people of all ages out clubbing. Avoid the West End!

I love Ibiza. Avoid that town in the north of the island. The rest is really good. I love the Germans on the east side and Ibiza old town 🙂

Youll love it.

Love the place, had some great 40th birthdays there (wifes & a good friend), and a few other visits over years - I'm 43 now.

Mambo for a sunset, drumming the sundown on a Sunday night@ Benirras, hippy market, Haxienda spa, probably best steak I've ever eaten in St Miguel restaurant,

Get Global FM on now to get into the grove of the place

All of the above plus a visit to Es Vedra at sunset
Lucky enough to work in Ibiza for a while love the island and never bore of it.

Mambo not West end. Mambo coastline etc are great. West end isn't.

Used to live out there for 7 years.

Mambo definitely not the west end. If you can get any "contacts" before you go they can turn out to be priceless. It's really a case of not what but who you know if you don't wanna spend big money for the best nights out.

Where is the west end in relation to mambo?

The west end in reality is one long street of bars, strip joints, debauchery, cheap drinks etc etc.
It's sort of just up from the bay area as I'd call it with a few low rise flats below it.

Mambo is further round the coastline towards the west (hence the sunset sets) past savanah and del mar.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I'd be interested in hearing more about this too. Is Cafe del Mar still how it used to be and not ruined by lager louts? What about the clubs, only likely to visit one or two so want to make sure I choose wisely (going for the music - and want to avoid the typical Brits abroad). Any where else on the island that's chilled and relaxing with good music?

Mrs BigJohn & I are spending a few days windsurfing in Tarifa early July. There's a Cafe del Mar there and we're keen to go. However, as we're both in our 60s, we're thinking of going to bed early then getting up about 3 and catch the last few hours before sunrise!

Ok I need to go again.

The last time we went there were some really screggy kids with a CD player playing tunes in the airport queue. I cringed, they were acting like it was a night out in Hull for a 17yr old 'off your face'.

Space is still great, 40/50 quid to get in on the door now I bet. Pacha changed after I last went and they moved a lot of the vip areas to where Joe public used to be able to access but it is something else. Del Mar/savanah always good but I've always loved mambo as I spent my 30th there and have known the manageress for the last 25 odd years...

Hi all, reviving this thread as I'm off in a couple weeks for a weekend of partying in Ibiza.

Do I need pre book tickets for the larger clubs or can I buy tickets on the day? and is it any cheaper to pre-book?

We're staying over on the East side on Bora Bora beach. Are there any good bars near or along there that people recommend? or are they all pretty good I can just walk into any that takes my fancy?

thanks in advance
