Aged 36 and I have bought my first brand new TV.
Bloody love it too. Plus, with the experience that my humble age brings, I know the novelty will have worn off by Monday!
I was 37 before I bought a computer (2 weeks ago). Just salvaged crap from work until now! 😆
Yes but do you get the choice of what channels you watch? 🙂
I was 26 before I owned a mobile Phone
i was 28 before i owned a computer
Aged 36 and I have bought my first brand new TV.
I am 40 and have not yet....
You're only 36? I'd always had you down as late forties/early fifties. Fair dues.
When I was a kid my folks were bohemian artists. They had two televisions. One on top of the other. On one the picture worked but it had no sound, the other had no picture but good sound. You can see where this is going
We had similar, but one in each alcove of the lounge. When the adverts came on, the nearest to the one with a picture turned it over so we could watch the picture until the adverts finished. Both were B/W too...
My folks were just tight.
You guys are old!
42 before I bought a computer, made do with hand-me-downs before that!
I was 37 before I stopped cupping my hand and wafting my own farts up for a sniff. Mind you I was only 37 a month ago, so I might treat myself again soon.
I was 32 before I knew that raisins were shrivelled up grapes.
I was 36 when I received my first debit card.
Still never had a cheque book or credit card (or debt!).
Used cashback in the pub for the first time the other day too.
You guys are old!
& you missed out on all the good sh1t FACT !
OP, does it have an on/off switch?
Convinced I didn't like tomatoes or cheese, I didn't have pizza until I was 23.
Similarly, school catering attempts at curry put me off that until I was 19; at university in Bradford from the age of 17 it was a bit of a problem... for a while anyway
Computer programmer since 1990, it was about 2002 before we got one at home.
60 before I got a railcard.
I bought myself a brand new TV two years ago for the first time in my life.
I used to watch 15" analogue TV (bought 2nd hand for £20) until they all gone digital think it was 3 years ago or something like that.
😛
30 something before I decided I liked baked beans.
9 before I bought a packet of fags (it was another couple years before I learned to inhale though...)

48 before I passed my bike test.
Never bought a TV (or seen a Star Wars movie...)
I'd always had you down as late forties/early fifties.
Thanks, um...I think?!
OP, does it have an on/off switch?
Yes, although it's at the back, strangely.
43 and purchased my first brand new TV last month, I do have a graphics monitor good enough to grade moving image on though that was 4x the price of my sony TV that I did watch Netflix/DVD's on.
I have never ordered a take away pizza though.
I was X before I did Y for the first time. 😳
I was 32 before I took an e.
Any younger and I would probably be dead by now, but the mid 90's were indeed 'Pukka'! 😉
I'm 32 and we just bought our first laptop. All previous were hand me downs or work ones.
Also 32 when I got my first fastish car.
Plan to be 33 when I buy my first DH bike.
I'm 37....
I'm an IT consultant....
I've never bought a computer in my life.
I've owned 3 - Commodore 64 my parents bought me, a 5 year old Dell desktop I pinched from work (before I worked in IT) and I kept for a week and finally now I've got a 4 year old Duel Core 2 based desktop we stream Netflix on and store photos etc - it came into work as an XP machine for scrap wearing a licence code for Win7 so I banged in 4gb of ram and a new hdd.
I've got a high-end laptop for work but rarely bring it home I can't be arsed with them out of work - I prefer devices for web and occasionally a bit of PS3.
58 and no telly (so far)
40 never bought a telly or a brand new car
I was 45 before I owned a mobile phone.
I never tried mushy peas 'til I was about 35...
Can I add first carpet to my OP now.
*gets a bit excited*

It's very grown up, possibly too grown-up

I was 40 before I had my first chip butty
I' ll be 50 this year & I've not yet had a Macdonalds.
I've had a motorbike since the age of 17 (not the same one) & can't imagine being without one.

😳
Dude, that's like 10 years before most of the forumites (not me though!)
37 before I learned from where the word "poppycock" was derived.
38 before I'd ridden a motorcycle. Still never bought or possessed a TV and still yet to buy a new car, doubt I ever will tbh.
I was 14 before I bought my first computer (actually 3 of us chipped in)
I was 18 before I bought my first bike (wish my own cash, and still got it aged 43)
I was 20 before I bought my first TV (still got that too, and it works, and has only recently been relegated as not too useful being 4:3 and not HD)
There's certainly some slackers in here 😉
I' ll be 50 this year & I've not yet had a Macdonalds.
I wouldn't even recommend a Happy Meal for your 50th, even though loads seem to treat their kids. They're neither happy nor a meal. But they're ace if you need to promote hunger 30 minutes later.
42 before it dawned on me why you have to put a £1 in a shopping trolley - that its not to discourage people from nicking them its so you have to put them back where you found them to get your £1 back rather than them being scattered all around the carpark.
When I was a kid my folks were bohemian artists. They had two televisions. One on top of the other. On one the picture worked but it had no sound, the other had no picture but good sound.
I used to do the same thing (when I was also a bohemian artist). I used to pick old brown-box tvs up off the street and tinker around with them, using the high tension circuit to make little arcs of northern light (and later, I learned to also irradiate myself) so I had a pile of partly functioning tv' in my house s ready to dismember and used one for sound and the other for picture (and both for the smell of hot damp dust)
i only saw the coca cola christmas lorry ad for the first time ever this christmas. at 50. kept wondering why people were making a big thing of the coca cola lorry being in town. "what coca cola lorry" to gasps of bewilderment? so i still only saw it cos nobody would believe me and they forced it on me. dont think ive been missing much.
I've never been to a straight strip club.
I was 24 when I went to a gay strip bar
(I'm straight) 😀
On the car theme, I'm 38 and I've never sold a car (other than to a scrap yard). I have owned them since I was about 19 though. Not bought bangers, just kept each one a long time.
I am about to have to sell 2. Irritatingly.
I was 29 when I bought my first porsche
I was 30 before i learnt to ride a bike (38 now).
Never learnt as a kid and too embarrassed in my teens / twenties. Having a child made me realise i needed to learn.
30 and never had a pot noodle quite happy to eat fast food and the odd takeaway but pot noodle is just a step too far!
I was 30 before I had a bike accident that a) kept me off my bike for a longish 2 1/2 months) amount of time b) seriously affected my confidence on the bike.
I guess that considering how long I've been riding, I'm lucky really.
I was 9 before I tried tobacco..
I also tried cannabis the same year 😳
I was 43 when I bought my 1st car.
I was 18 before I flew in an aeroplane.I was 20 before I landed in an aeroplane.
I was 19 and 20-something respectively, but same here.
Age 34 had my first broken bones, first time under general anesthetic, first surgery and cast, first time signed off work, first time injecting self with some medical drugs...all last week 🙂 Guess this is the first big challenge of my life.
54 before my 1st mobile, 3 months ago.
