Email touting an offer for a club I'm for lifetime membership offer. Not epic money or low. Pitched about right. Name, logos etc.
The club must of had thier details comprimised.
All looked legit and got my attention.
Like a clown, I follwed the a link filled the PayPal /itunes gift card (first warning) using a the gmail email (obvs fake, still carried on like a knob).
After the event, rechecked and they were using a bogus email.
Arse.
Anyone, rang PayPal and was basically told to jog on, idiot 🙁 Even though the first person I spoke to said I was eligible for buyer proctection.
Any other avenues to explore..... or do I just suck it up 🙁

Where did your PayPal funding come from? Credit/debit card?
I'm surprised pp can't reverse it if you didn't use F&F, maybe try them again and see if you can get hold of a different person?

PayPal is topped up manually from another back account and not linked. So not much in there thankfully.

If you bought an iTunes gift card and gave that to the scammer then PayPal might not help. You used PayPal to buy the gift card and you got that. If you are a regular PayPal user they might refund as goodwill

I didn't clock that. I read it as asked to pay by pp or iTunes and chose pp.
I have no idea what iTunes is or how it works (music website for apple things?) If that there ^ is correct you may be stuffed
