I think I read it's something about the dye or whatever they use, looks black but technically is very dark blue.

Apparently, 10% of males are colour blind to some extent so don't be surprised if you are...

Isn't it french blue rather than British blue. Maybe that's the problem.

Sounds like priests socks

Father Dougal: I read an article about priest's socks, that priest's socks are blacker than any other socks.
Father Ted: That's right. Sometimes you see lay people wearing apparently black socks, but if you look closely, they are really very, very, very very dark blue.
Father Dougal: That's true. I thought my Uncle Tommy was wearing black socks but when i look at them closely, they were just very, very, very, very, very, very dark blue.
Father Ted: Never buy black socks in a normal shop. They will shaft you everytime.

I'm colour blind and so is my twin brother. It makes people scratch their heads when we play snooker against each. We don't get to hung up about what colours are left on the table 🙂

Would you have specced a car interior/exterior combination like this - yes or no? If yes, you're definitely colour blind:

I’m glad someone mentioned this, because I’ve just renewed mine and was expecting blue. But indeed, it looks black. Even under sunlight.

Surely the old ones were very dark blue?

From this Government's normal shop.

We've ALL been shafted, every time.

My old one looks sort of maroon to me so I must be colour blind

The old large cardboard cover ones were dark blue.

I think most cyclists are colour blind. They don't seem to be able to tell the difference between Red and Green at the traffic lights...

I would like to correct the record, it appears I misspoke last time I addressed the house on this matter. They are actually Polish blue.

Obviously, when I'm forced to renew mine, I shall get one of those natty maroon covers for it.

I've always wondered why the feds are called the boys/girls in blue.

Black innit. 🤔

Because the uniforms were once blue.

An old blue British passport (black), and old red British passport (pink) and a red French passport (bordeaux). The background is some bleu France kit which is out of date as Macron has abandoned bleu France in favour of a darker bleu marine for the French flag.

Haha I was looking for the passport thread from a few weeks ago to update that mine came 4 weeks to the day after ordering it online, and I managed to get to Spain 2 days later. Forum search for the word passport brought up this thread though so I thought I would chip in.
Yes it’s black. My wife says it’s black too. It’s also made of very thin paper and was staring to curl by the time I got through customs again at stansted last weekend.
However it has now got two stamps in so that is a win.
The real thing I was going to post about was that after texting me all the updates about the progress of my application and a text finally to remind me to sign it in black ink I just got a text from hm passport office reminding me that:

Reminder: An expired passport could take up to 10 weeks to renew. Check before you book, renew at https://www.gov.uk/renew-my-passport

So the left hand is fully aware of what the right hand is doing…🙄
