You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Been away from my flat for a few months and came back to a letter from the council stating that I was due them 82 quid for stair cleaning and as I hadn't responded they would start sherrif court proceedings. I had 14 days to pay, the letter was dated the 18th of August.
Opened the letter today and paid asap.
Will the court proceedings already have started, and if so will I get a summons or just an automatic bill and a CCJ against my credit rating.
I'm paranoid about this as I work in finance and will be having to apply for jobs next year...if I have a CCj against me then I'll be stuffed.
Slightly worried but will call the council tomorrow to grovel.
Ccj is only after its gone to court, you lose then don't pay within the required timescale.
Assuming that hasn't happened then it won't even show on your credit record
So if ive already paid before ive been summoned i'm fine?
I doubt it's even got that far yet. Phone them and pay up and it'll likely disappear. If they really have started court proceedings then pay what they ask and there will be nothing on your record.
The amount of worrying you need to do in this scenario is 0.
my advice to you is to start drinking heavily... 😀
