As I have just secured a move to a permanent job (doing same thing but moving location) I am thinking of treating myself. I pad mini may be the ideal gift, don't want a 3g just wifi.

The most capacity you can afford, 'cos you'll fill it up. Prices are pretty much the same whereever.

Yeah, I find the bigger you can afford the better.
I believe someone posted a link to the OU Apple education site the other day that would probably get you some discount on it direct from Apple.
Another option is to look into refurbished units from the Apple website.
I love my iPad mini, perfect size for travelling with on planes etc.
Which size
Personally, I'd go for the 7.9 inch.
