I have a few friends in the NHS and been talking about there pensions.
Best thing is to go to the company that does the actual pension
being HR apparently giving misleading advice.

The nhs is being broken up for sale to the lowest bidder,

pensions will be eroded as new terms and conditions are made for the staff,

the pension pot you and me have paid into may be drained to subsidise loss making parts of the nhs,

Whatever happens, your pension is going to be worth less, and cost more, unless youre a bbc or local governmnet senior manager.

Question answered.

Chris, I am a newbie to the site, I usually leave it to the occasional read, rather than comment or ask for fear of looking like a plonker. Your post was the catalyst to register. The NHS pension represents a large part of my job, if you have any questions I would be happy to answer what ever I can for you. The quit pro quo is...

I purchased a second hand Trek 1500 a few years ago. I used it a nbit initially, then the demands of being a dad to a baby diverted my attention. I am told its fairly well speced as it has ultegra equipment. I took it for a service a while back and they swaped the back cog for a non ultegra without asking me. Is this an issue? And what are the most important areas to focus on in terms of bang for your bucks with bikes.. Btw I don't mean crazy money like some of the things I see in some shops.. Individual wheels for +£1000 wow..
Any advice will be appreciated
Dan
