Technically my daughter (2.5) needs one.

I want something as small and light as possible - maybe one that folds up or is made out of collapsable rubber. Ideally needs to be able to clip to a ruck sack whilst hiking - I am already carrying her, so don't want to add to my burden!

Anything better than this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Potette-Plus-Universal-Award-Winning-Essential/dp/B08PG2NGF4?th=1

we (with boys) just had them squat (holding both hands so they couldn't topple over) when they were potty training, needed a number 2 and we weren't in range of a toilet. Could that work for the kid?

We had one something like that years ago with ours, it was pretty good to be honest and lasted all our 4 going through that stage.

We had something similar for our two. Worked well.

Teach them to squat and use dog poo bags to pick up poos.

How about one of these? - kiddiwhizz.com

I have no link but the woman behind it is a friend of my wife's and it's a really good product.

My wife swears by the potette,  a folding one that you stick a bag in to.  2 girls and now the boy all fine with it.   It also goes on a loo seat with side 'legs' out to the sides,  making the seat smaller for little bums.  Good bit of kit

We’ve travelled all over with our kids. We NEVER go anywhere without our potette. Even our 7 year old has needed it recently. OXO make a slightly better version. There’s one loaded and ready to deploy at a moments notice under my daughter’s seat in the van right now.

we had one of those stupid penguin suitcase things. We filled it once. It went to the tip un-emptied. Designer wants putting on a spike.
