My name is dirt having forgotten to sort sky before contract end. So, on the verge of cancelling it tomorrow I want to go into the debate armed with "well I know you did this deal elsewhere so sort me out..."
What have you lot managed to get?
We want fast broadband, F1 and netflix.
Not had sky for years now but the best discount I ever got offered was when I actually did cancel and let them stew on it for a couple of weeks!
Let it cancel. They offered me a big discount, a credit to my account that covered the next 9 months, and then once I'd agreed I mentioned I needed a box upgrade to enjoy whatever I'd bought. They also told me I could cancel at any time, although when I did, 9 months later, I had to wait whilst they listened to my previous call with them!
(PS Even with it free for 9 months, I hardly watched it anyway!)
I presume if it cancels the services just carry on just at a higher rate?
I’d move the broadband anyway, but I never like having all my services with one supplier.
I stopped my Sky contract when I moved house 18 months ago. They are still sending me offers but nothing startling. And I won’t sign up to 18 months+ when other TV suppliers don’t tie you in now.
I bought a recordable Freesat box and for 90% of stuff it’s just as good.
The F1 will be the sticking point though! I log-in to my dads sub and watch it on that.
The skybox will revert to freesat I think. I don't think your broadband will cancel though.
