to be fair that was always a solid performer....
The sound of a heavy impact when I misjudge a bike manoeuvre, even people ahead of me on the trail have comments on some of them.
Trying to do something new, even if it doesn't work out exactly as I planned.

MDMA
My first ever festival... In my 40's, my first try of MDMA too in addition to lots and lots of beer.
I spent a huge amount of time learning how to hoola hoop to the point that a friend had to come and drag me away.
Later that night I finally made it back to my tent. Almost. I was half in the tent half out, just crashed on the threshold basically, wearing a onesie that to this day I don't know how I got hold of.
The next day I got into some very competitive glitter wrestling. That night I ended up in the caravan of a lady working at the festival that was heavily into bondage. It was on display all over the caravan and she was overly happy to chat about it all. Thank God she fell asleep before she got a chance to demonstrate. Dodged a bullet there.

Why has no-one mentioned my “Are you bored enough to watch” series???
Nope, soz WCA, but after the first couple, actively avoided.
Not seeing much to disagree with in Rusty Spanners list, (although there's a few, in my sensible life I've never experienced)
The smell of a Douglas Fir pine forest in the height of summer heat as the resin bubbles pop and fill the air with the scent of heavenly terpenes all around. There’s a massive Douglas Fir in my local woods (bar hill, kirkcudbright) that was my preferred spot to sit against and brew up a coffee when out on trail building/maintenance sessions as red squirrels bobbed about everywhere eating the trail mix I threw for them, truly magical little place that I had just for myself.

The resin is also very effective for cuts, gashes as it’s antiseptic, anti microbial and very effective on bruises and sprains. It does nip a fair bit when applied to a cut/wound so be prepared to scream like a banshee.
Never disappointed with any time I spent in that trees company.
Haven't been able to get to it for near enough 5 years now due to SPMS but in summer my mum fills little plastic vials with resin she collects from popping the bubbles on the trunk so I don’t totally miss out.

On the other hand I have been disappointed in all of them compared to Trinity Sessions.
Never been disappointed by a Wonderstuff gig,
Never been disappointed by a Wonderstuff gig
I've been to dozens over the years, but one stands out as being particularly shit. Probably the last time they played the Civic, only half full of punters and Miles decided that it was the crowds fault they had booked an overly optimistic venue.
Seen him/them since in smaller venues and they are back to their fantastic best.
On the other hand I have been disappointed in all of them compared to Trinity Sessions
Yeah, and this. Trinity Sessions was such a ridiculously high bar that very few albums by any artist have ever come close.
The levels of compassion show on here by the members of this forum; often to complete strangers.
How self-serving politicians are.
How unself-serving the NHS staff are.
How bloody stiff I feel before, during and after exercise since turning 40...every single time I do anything I also think I need to do some stretches every day - and I never do.
How amazing it is to see youngsters start getting into mountain biking and seeing them progress - all at different rates, but they all progress.

Great for a one off, like the first day of a holiday or when the weather is biblical outside, but so boring if repeated, you just end up wasting the morning. Such a waste of time. Also my kids like the odd 'lazy day' but again only as a one off.
Much more satisfying getting up at 6am on the weekend, going for a spin, getting all your chores out the way, have a lovely lunch then have a snooze in the afternoon, ideally in the sun. Only needs to be half an hour.

If you’re going to diss all the rest of an absolutely peerless body of work at least get the name of the album you like right.
The difference that having total focus on one thing can have on my mood, be it skydiving, taking the motorbike out or long range target shooting. It's zen, or at least a fair copy.
Tabasco Sauce's ability to improve a ration pack meal.
Also, obviously, a chicken & mushroom Pot Noodle.
A bike ride. Some have been too slow, too hard, too tame, too scary, too wet, too cold, too far, too short and many other complaints.
But fundamentally, apart from 3 where my bike has been stolen, the have all been good.
The shower after any bike ride that's been too anything. Especially the shower after a too cold or too wet ride 😃
Petch's pork and apple pies. I've been disappointed by the inconsistencies of many other foods and activities, but not them.
I've never really 'got' or eaten an empire biscuit, they just look so unappealing and dull.
not having children
waking up on a day off, nothing planned and just lazing in bed
The counterbalance to this (and I think we are probably both right).
Having children
Waking up on a day off and loading three bikes or bags of sailing gear into the car instead of one, getting over their infuriating morning chaos and heading off with two people whose skills and capabilities are always expanding and having great company and youthful excitement around you to drag you out of weekend pit of inactivity you might have otherwise slipped into.
My goodness though they're hard work and sometimes infuriating too 😂
Greek yoghurt ✅
Montane clothing ✅
Whoever that was saying Rab instead, I'd say complete opposite although that's unnecessarily harsh on Rab.
@didnthurt - I've had loads of Montane kit over the last 20+ years and not one problem. I'm not slim, very clumsy and don't take that much care of my kit.
The only negative thing is the reflective dashes occasionally peel off the windshirts after about 5-10 years of use

Do you need a cuddle?

Depot Bakery sourdough bread.
Riding my bike. As someone said earlier, there's a range of emotions involved, but to not be able to would be sh@t.
I’ve often been disappointed by a bike ride, sometimes me, sometimes the bike - a really irritating mechanical or awful weather…but I’m struggling to think of a disappointing ride on my fat bike. Every time I think about moving the old girl on to make space for another bike I just think how boring life would be without the odd big bouncy pogo grin inducing nonsense ride and stay she does.
Having proper mudguards on my bike in November. Or any other month.
On the other hand I have been disappointed in all of them compared to Trinity Sessions.
Oh I like them all but granted Trinity Sessions is very special.
A decent schralp.
THE Trinity SESSION!!!!!
One session, one day, one session only!!! Not sessions, not a series of recordings, just one amazing day of creative talent and amazing reverb
(actually they finished one of the songs later but it was basically one session and Misguided Angel was done in a single take!!)
Session. Just sayin.
Clutch gigs.
Solving a bouldering problem I've been struggling with.
Flat out on the bike.
Yer maw.

Met up with my university mates for a near-30 year reunion, the excuse was a Levellers gig. I was never a fan, but figured it would be worth it to see them. I managed about 30 minutes, christ they're just as * as ever. Nice t shirts, but *ing awful music.
Bit like Cradle of Filth then.

Well at least they are consistent! I heave enjoyed every time I have seen them…
Red squirrels is a good one… but I think you could add kingfishers, dolphins and ospreys (when fishing). Many seabirds would qualify too. Oh, drumming snipe heard from a tent. Corncrakes
Also my Pamir Hypercracker.
A BJ in my life.
