Sounds stupid, I know, but genuinely couldn't face having it done. Was due a haircut around the time Lyanda sadly passed away. Then was going to get one in time for the funeral.

As each week passed I kept thinking I really should get a haircut. Worked it out, been about 6 months since my last haircut and my last shave was the morning of the funeral, just under 3 months ago. This morning I had a haircut and a shave when I got home.

A small step for me, just looking human again.

Whilst a haircut and shave may be be considered as trivial, these are big steps for you and your family in adjusting back into a routine lifestyle where possible. I have the upmost respect for the amount of courage and strength you have shown during this time of difficulty.

All the best mate, you're doing great.

Good man - these are all strangely significant little steps towards a new "normal"

I've read some of your other threads, and haven't really commented so far, but I'd like to take this opportunity to send my wholehearted sympathies, support and best wishes - you sound like you're doing a damned fine job with little ones, under the most heartbreaking circumstances, and you have my congratulations for the way you continue to deal with this, and a whole heap of admiration too...

A good haircut and beard trim is one of lifes simple pleasures, a good barber is a good listening ear or just enough conversation to keep your mind occupied.

Just keep taking those small steps. It's amazing what difference they make and how they add up. How are the kids doing? Keep posting and keep fighting each day. We are all thinking about you here at Funk HQ

Thanks all 😊

Definitely small steps. I have completely given up on myself. The kids are all clean, fed, clothed, go to school etc, all the normal things like i usually do. But that is probably an equivalent of trying to climb everest in itself. I am glad just to survive each day.

This was the first thing I have done for me in a long time. A simple thing which took a lot of me convincing myself I needed to do it.

IHN - hairiness, that is pretty much a before and after. I am no Clooney though, thanks to my endless comfort eating over the past few months. This is one of the next things I will be trying to deal with.

As far as updates go, i really need to update on what has happened. Will do this, definitely.

Weirdly, what neil the wheel said...

And coincidentally, just had my 'two monthly haircut and bladder tube (don't ask) reset'.

Next thing you know, you'll be piling in to the latest 'de shaving' thread with the rest of us hopeless obsessives.

Keep on truckin.

Wopster.

Well done. As others have said I've been following your story and you are an inspiration. Your strength to share your experiences and keep your family going is unbelievable.

Taking care of yourself is important and I bet you feel better for a hair cut and shave. Keep going, you've got the STW community behind you.

(Is it just me or is it a bit dusty in here?)
