Inspired by the news today. Prince Harry saying that being called a hippy is a bit of a put down basically.
I agree with him in that it is a fairly gentle (compared to present day name calling) way of dismissing someone's views out of hand.
I certainly have a bit of a tree hugger/ hippy mentality in some ways and don't see it as a bad thing.
What about you guys?
Massive hippy in my head here.
Sadly turn out to be a bit of a facist who just listens to Principal Edwards Magic Theatre.
My partner thinks she’s a hippy and often dresses like one. She’s a well qualified (two degrees plus various professional certs), privately educated, multinational, middle class girl. Whatever floats your boat.
Becoming more hippy/tree huggery as I get older, thankfully

Typical hippy then.
The 90's was probably when I was peak hippy, but mostly a misguided teenager.

I'm 43 and still hug trees. I work in social enterprise for a kids charity and previously ran an organic Market Garden for about ten years. I get excited by apple harvests.
I went to a handfasting held in the Avalon orchard on the side of Glastonbury Tor a couple of weeks ago. Peak ****ing hippy that one.
Ooh lovely 👍🏻
Meh many of the hippies turned out to be much like those they claimed to be reacting against and are now pillars of the establishment. Pete Townshend was right about one thing " meet the new boss same as the old boss"
