I imagine his ginormous balls act as pretty good buoyancy aids.

The speed looks seriously quick once the swell is starting to roll. And I'd want that big orange uncap sizeable bastard the RNLI use to tow the lads not a poxy jet ski!!!

If you're on FB you can see a pic from Porthcothan taken by a coupla friends of mine on Sunday

Here's another they took a few years back:

If you want to know about big waves - watch Riding Giants.

Here's a video of Teahupoo, perhaps the most extreme piece of hydrodynamics that exists - my fave wave [not that I'd go anywhere near it], just for the beauty of it:

that rescue video made me quiet emotional.
the big wave riders are brave as **** for sure, but hats off to their support crews for their bravery too, there is footage some where of a jetski rider taking a full hit from the whitewater at jaws to keep hold of someone unconscious in the water. when you could twist a wrist and get out of there, that is seriously brave in my book.

love the footage from nazare its something else the way its so close to the beach

"Look at it! It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, man! Let me go out there and let me get one wave, just one wave before you take me in. I mean, come on man, where I am I gonna go? Cliffs on both sides! I'm not gonna paddle my way to New Zealand! Come on, compadre. Come on!"

Proper Big BOUY's stuff that over in Portugal... Takes a load of speed to catch that wave up, most use tow'ins and you've gotta have a lot of respect for the guys on jetskis bailing out just at the lip... 😯
