Brian Adams released a cover version of War Machine by Kiss back in August (I caught it over the weekend on Planet Rock). I thought it was pretty good so did a quick bit of research and found out that...
Brian Adams *WROTE* War Machine for Kiss back in the early 1980s.
Well I never.
Do you mean the ?? bryan adams?
I knew he was a classically trained composer, but had no idea he’d written stuff for other artists.
In that case, I'll blow your mind... He's also a very accomplished photographer and photojounalist.

He got his first real six string guitar at the Five and Dime apparently. Not sure of the year though.
...Summer of 69 isn't about the year.
Ooops, sorry, Bryan Adams.
Also, Manic Monday written by Prince and I'm A Believer written by Neil Diamond.
Can I just point out, I wasn’t meaning to sound like a spelling pedant
Manic Monday
Ah, Susannah Hoff…
Summer of 69 - there are many theories about the title - but he has said this in the past...
In a previous 2008 interview, he further said about his famous song, “There is a slight misconception it’s about a year, but it’s not… ‘69’ has nothing to do about a year, it has to do with a sexual position. At the end of the song, the lyric says that ‘it’s me and my baby in a 69.’ You’d have to be pretty thick in the ears if you couldn’t get that lyric . . . I only ever wrote that title because it made me laugh.”

Maybe you can explain why he was standing on her mama's Porsche?

Damnit, I'm never going to hear it any differently. Needs adding to the Peter Kay misheard playlist.
It's not being pedantic to correct the spelling of a name. I mean for a minute I thought this guy had been writing shit rock songs in his spare time

... he only had two number 1 singles in the UK charts. Thought it'd be more than that.
(who can name the other one?)
who can name the other one?
Like anyone is going to own up to knowing that...
I'm just reading a list of 51 songs he wrote for others - including Joe Cocker...

A dying market....
And Rock and Roll Hell too......
I’m still aurally traumatised by “that” one!
I think Adams himself said he was sick of hearing it eventually .
A dying market….
Wait… what!
I think Adams himself said he was sick of hearing it eventually .
If he promised to never play it live I'd go and watch him again, he was pretty good live. Though it's an appropriate song to go for a piss to, I suppose.

I saw him about 10 years ago at a small-ish local gig. Went in thinking I'd know the big songs, turned out I knew every song he played (despite never owning a Bryan Adams album!) Was a great gig actually, I'd definitely see him again.

Didn't he publicly ask people to stop buying it?
A friend as a favour to his publisher gave him on a guided tour of something that he was interested in photographing - can't remember what - picked him up, drove him down and essentially spent the day with him - had absolutely no idea who he was when his wife told him that evening.
Different creepy sex pest. They both lOVE being asked for Summer of 69 at gigs though.
Madness', it must be love, was written by Labi Siffre. As in, something inside so strong, Labi Siffre.

First dance at my wedding. The Labi Siffre version that is.
Ice T's Bodycount just did a cover of Comfortable Numb with Gilmore on guitar (if that fits in with, I didn't know that, I just found out myself). A lot more swearing in it than I remember.

Last of his albums I bought was "Waking up the Neighbours" which was produced by Mutt Lange. Distinct Def Leppard vibes in places.

I thought everyone knew that…
Maybe it’s just I’m old enough to be able to remember most of the original songs first time around… *shrugs*.
It’s not being pedantic to correct the spelling of a name
If you check in a dictionary, it's pretty much the definition of pedantic.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pedantic
Pedantic is an insulting word used to describe someone who annoys others by correcting small errors, caring too much about minor details, or emphasizing their own expertise especially in some narrow or boring subject matter.

That’s Mutt Lange who’s married to Shania Twain (or was, they separated quite a while ago apparently)
And to link Bryan Adams to Mtbing... if you've ever cycled down Holford Combe in the Quantocks, you've gone past where the 'Everything I do' video was shot!
