iMac, Mac book and iPad, they are selling you a lifestyle, not shelves!

The shelves seem to be able to carry quite a bit. All depends on your walls though. 🙂

I use that in my shed.
It's great having book ends. 😉

It would be a whole lot cooler if it was a bike workshop! 😛

It looks like the apartment in Fight Club, before punching ones self in the face very hard right before the inevitable blowing up of all your stuff that owns you.

IKEA nesting instinct.

I don't get it. It's just a set of shelves. my dad put up a set of shelves like that in my room about 30 odd years ago.

OP
You really need to get out more.
I know the shelves are your friends but outside you can meet and speak to actual living breathing people.

Really don't see what's special about them. Am I missing something?

edit: perhaps I'm being shelfish?

that second example.

fair play for filing LP's by colour but why oh why have they got one pair of books with their spines facing outwards and the other not. It's wrong, just *wrong*.

If you think they are the same as spur shelves you would have to accept that an Apollo rampage (buy one get one free in Halfords) is indeed a full suspension MTB and be happy to use it instead of your orange/giant/specialized/ibis etc.
Do you seriously think they look the same? Maybe shed furniture is the in thing these days? 😯

Cool. Can I talk to them about shelves? 🙂

Seriously. They are a big step up from Spur but the price is insane. What's actually driven the search for shelves is the fact that I do have a baby — I'm trying to get the HiFi out of the way of said baby.

The spur metal shelves look like they might do the trick. My heart will always be with Vitsoe though. 🙂

OP. I understand.

I've been told I'm obsessed with String shelving.

We have a baby on the way and have just put up some of the cheaper String Pocket up in the nursery.

I like this kind of stuff as its generally been made for years and you can configure it how you like, add to your collection over the years.

I'm with ya!

About 15 years ago I had my hi-fi on a rack like that. Used Flexi-shelving from B&Q and had some glass shelves made for the units.

Fancy shed shelving it is indeed.

Shelf pictures never show any wires between electrical components do they?-will look completely gash when all the gubbins is added. Looks like Spur too. Those shelves will Saaaaaaag after a while too with all those LP's on there!
Edit-I take that back-I can see one wire on the first pic.

My wife is a very handy and crafty person.
Her next project for our house is to do a wall shelving unit by building in billy book cases

The hifi and LP's are not for playing. They are art, the music comes from the i-stuff

I've got those. They don't look that good... but then I put things on them like books and DVDs, not photo frames and vases.

If the OP likes them, great. They don't seem any nicer than Spur to me. I don't really want office/industrial look in my living room though. We have loads of Spur in the office room and a couple of the kids' bedrooms. These are the living room shelves.

Duh-missed that completely-I still use an old fashioned Hi-Fi (I do stream though!)
