1 health scare
15 kg of lard lost
5km of forest tracks jogged (without stopping)
I've NEVER been able to run more than a mile before.
I might well go and do it again tomorrow
That is all 😀
Great news. 🙂
But,
I might well go and do it again tomorrow
Maybe not.
Careful now. It's addictive 🙂
I started running again in January after 10 years of hardly any regular running. I'm up to about 40 miles of trail running a week now and I absolutely love it. 🙂
He'll of a 5km to lose 15kg
A Bizzie actually able to run? 😯
Cheers DD - I'll be after some ergo tips from you soon!

You'd be better off asking clubber I reckon.
About the running, seriously, awesome stuff and sometimes you enjoy that first proper run so much, you want to go out and do it again the next day. But if you're going from zero to hero, then give your body a chance to recover for a day before smashing it again. Great stuff though. 🙂

Yep. Didn't say how fast though. 😯
Well done! Losing over 2 stones isn't easy. What was the health scare?
my money's on the OP not being able to walk down the stairs the next day 😀you enjoy that first proper run so much, you want to go out and do it again the next day

He might manage it backwards. 😀
I've been working up to it over the past couple of weeks. Just sort of got in the groove today and managed to keep it going. Legs feel fine tonight - lets see how I hobble tomorrow.
Might take the bike out for a spin instead 🙂
I reckon you is in well good shape so you should do this 😀

If not then just enjoy the running 😀
OP will be reading this tomorrow http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_onset_muscle_soreness
Probably the day after, just when you think you have got away with it 🙁
Well done on the weightloss/run!
Cheers guys. A fair bit more weight to shift, but it'll come.
Edited to avoid offence
I can recommend a pescatarian diet (vegan + fish) as an alternative to the 48hr / iDave diet.
And it was such a nice thread.... Sigh
Let the fighting commence...Probably
Inspiring stuff, I wll have to dig out my old running shoes (soon)
I hated running. I've worked at it and vastly improved to the point where I can do proper running distances in slow real runner times rather than humbler times.
I still don't like it though. It's just far too uncomfortable.
I'm far too fat to be a runner, in fact I managed to quite well screw up my knee trying to run on a treadmill out of sight of the casual observer...
However I've recently decided to start running al fresco (yes I may be a bifter running around and yes the sight of me wobbling down the road may offend - but at least I'm doing something about being a fat bifter!) which has had the marvelous side effect of tightening the calves on ascents and consequently slowing my pace and lowering the impact on my knees.
So far I'm upto 4.5miles at 10:30mins/mile with 2miles without needing to stop and cry at my calves, although I am working on a 3km loop and trying to get to the point where I can manage that without needing to stop.
It's hugely satisfying to have a new set of milestones to 'tick off' and hopefully I'm getting more of a workout than I manage on the bike.
I have come late to running too. Time poor now back at work (boo), so a good intense workout in the evening. But I can get sore knees if I do too much, so I'd watch for that. But I also find that I can back to back more days of exercise if I switch between cycling and running, must use different muscles or something? Anyway, enjoy the sun!
