This one, looked alright for a mighty £12.50

Any ideas as to its origin/make etc?

It's like a tiny clock that you can strap onto your arm. 😉

No, That's the Houses of Parliament.

So I've bought the Houses of Parliament? That would explain why it was cheap, cos the bell doesn't work any more.

Would also explain the leather straps.

They love that shit in the House of Lords.

This thread has not gone exactly as I wanted, but pretty much as I expected... 🙂

Mission accomplished.

e-bay watch purchase to Peer of the realm bondage in five moves.

My work here is done.

Display caseback says it's not actually a military watch. Looks like a bog-standard A2813 movement or similar. Probably from China, looks to be a decade old or so given tarnishing to case, but it might just have had a hard life. The numeral font is [s]ripped off [/s]an homage to the IWC Mark series.

I quite like the big crown.

But to me it looks like a cheap Chinese mechanical watch, probably worth about £12.50

Fair enough, I was looking for a(nother) Seiko 5 but I just liked the look of it, for that money I thought I'd take a punt.

It did lead me on to looking at Raketas, of which I have one already. Some of them are really cool looking.

There's a few Russian and Indian brands that make some funky and very inexpensive mechanical watches.

I occasionally see an Orient I quite like the look of.

I was trying to remember that Indian brand - there are literally millions of them on eBay at £2 or whatever. Some look quite cool too! Most have repainted dials, but they're cheap as chips and mechanical.

Can you remember the name of the brand?

Well, it arrived yesterday.

Not bad, kept time well overnight after wearing yesterday evening, seems pretty robust. I'd say it's worth at least £20 🙂
