I have a Humax DTR-T1000 YouView DVR (not FreeSat) that has hitherto been fine, however it has now stopped connecting to All4. ITVX has not been available for a while, although I hardly watch anything on itv anyway, so that's no biggie. Now whenever I want to watch something on demand on C4 it won't open the All4 player and just reverts back to the normal screen. It's been a useful piece of kit over the years, so I'm wondering if it's slowly dying or is Humax stopping support for older boxes and blocking their use of on-demand apps, as they have done with ITVX. For those few on here who still have Humax boxes, do you have the same issue?
Alternatively, what other options are available, as I guess DVRs are now fairly old tech? I like the ability to series record programmes and then zip forward through the ads when they're on.
we use a PVR for series recording as it allows us to skip ads, then use a firestick for apps where we've forgotten to record and need to access via All4 or iPlayer or whatever
