Short for hipster gruel isn't it?

No I haven't. Don't like the look of it.

I started using it to replace lunches at work as I was bored of the food offerings at the office.

Nothing against it, but you need some will power to see it through. I still have plenty left, there us something to be said for enjoying your meals.

Just read a bit on the Huel website & I think I'll order some.

Oh hang on, I've just realised i'm pissed!

Tony, don't, just don't. You wouldn't hack that crap for a day & neither would I.

I use it at least once a day when I cannot be bothered to prepare food. Does the trick for me.

My girlfriend uses it, she's just had a dodgy batch, that causes it to thicken up too much, they will only refund the unopened pack not the one that's been opened and been used 2 times.

Their customer service and attitude has been horrific.

reason I asked, I seem to have lost the ability to eat breakfast on a morning. just cant face anything.
and then once I am ready for something, I am like a man possessed. eating anything I can lay my hands on, which is usually something between 2 slices of bread. I need to stop eating bread, because it makes me a fat bastard.

so I thought a meal replacement might be a good idea for mornings.
and this stuff looked ok, or so I thought.

Tried Huel, i am sure it is swept off the floor of a saw-mill, if you are looking for something quick you can drink i tend to just stick the following in a blender together:

- Handful of frozen berries (tesco do big bags now of odd-shaped ones on cheap)
- Cherry/raspberry bio yoghurt pot.
- Scoop of basic diet protein powder
- Scoop of milled flaxseed
- Top up with milk.

Take 3 minutes to make and drink, and tastes 100X better than Huel

Curvy girl at work was using it, stopped now, still just as curvy

Gave me the idea to eat porridge instead of canteen food as I stay in a hotel 3 times a week and was eating too much.

Lost 12 lbs in 2 months to get to my summer weight - did lots of cycling too though.

My current can't be arsed/dont have time for breakfast is a handful of oats in the blender with a banana, milk, honey and chocolate brownie protein powder.

Tastes pretty good and keeps me going till lunch. If i skip breakfast I tend to have elevenses (pig/bread based) and then two lunches.

I should have had it today instead of a bowl of shreddies, that didn't touch the sides and I've already eaten two slices of toast, mushrooms, an avocado, loads of feta and two poached eggs 😀

What kind of bread are you eating and have you tried seeded\granary types? Lower GI so may not have the same fb effect.

did they deliberately make the name sound like the noise you make when you vomit, in order to manage expectations?

Think it's supposed to mean "Human Fuel", but you are very right... tastes no better on way up.

Make your own stuff. As above it's easy, bag of oats, bananas, milk, nuts, bags of frozen fruit, seeds, anything you can think of. It will be cheaper, taste better and you can change the recipe each day.

Similar to scud, my normal breakfast is-

1/3 cup of frozen berries
1/3 cup of dry chia seeds
scoop of isolate protein powder
top up with whole organic milk and blend for 60 seconds

It should make about 500ml

The chia seeds really soak up liquids so expand in the stomach and keep you really full (you might need to drink more than usual). After that it is only habit/ritual that makes me eat at lunchtime.

When you say curvy do you mean good curvy (like say the dark haired lass on BBC weather) or bad (like, er Ton)

I was trying to be polite 🙂 Her health would benefit from significant weight loss but she's not willing to compromise on eating or do much exercise so has given up really.
