I use it, it's ace for low volumes. I even found that when I was having some issues, they refunded me the wasted pages.

Yeah I use it. Infrequent use. Seems to cost best part of nowt.

We've had it since Jan and seemed to have paid nothing so far. Not sure why but we're got another free month, and will start paying next month. We're on the £1.99 per month plan.

Superb for us. We pay for the 100 page deal which is £3 a month or something, on the basis that occasionally we need a lot.

The key advantage is that it doesn't matter what's on the pages. So for £3 you can print out 100 A4 photos if you want which would usually cost about £150 in ink.

This looks interesting, I was about to start looking at printers that include printing from mobile devices.

We usually print less than 20 pages a month. Occasionally we'll do a few more printing travel insurance documents etc.

Our printer costs about £50 to fill, more than once a year. This would likely cost us between nothing and a few quid a year (after initial outlay obviously).

Same experience here. Bought a printer for about £60 or so shortly after Christmas, and signed up for the very low volume (ie £0 for 15 pages) scheme. So far, I've had 4 bills, all for the grand total of diddly squat. We might have gone over that this month, but we'll find out on or around 17th June by the look of it. Had my doubts at the time, as it seemed too good to be true. Apparently it's working fine.

Use it here, and we had a voucher for 12 months free. Worth more than twice what the printer was in the sale.
Now on minimum amount, better than £50 for cartridges in one go or hunting recycled ones that work.

Yeah we use it too - hasn’t cost us a penny over the cost of the printer yet but it does boil my piss that they tell you that they send you larger volume cartridges as part of the programme to reduce their costs - if they can do that then why don’t they do that for everyone and reduce needless wastage and landfill...

Similar here. First 9 months were free. Pay £3-4/month now and no longer think twice about what we’re printing. The online usage tracker is pretty smart too.

Had it a while. Easy to Up or down the subscription if you need to. Always works. Always got ink.

I’m amazed at how much printing and ink the cartridges can do. Compared to the Kodak I had before, which was like having a pet crack addict, it’s been painless ownership.

Thanks for all the replies chaps. Sounds like, as I hoped, it suits us down to the ground, being low usage printers.

I was a fairly early adopter, so never got the advantage of the free service, but 2quid a month, it's basically half a pint of beer. Even the odd heavy month doesn't cost much. Can't believe all the other printer manufacturers haven't jumped on the bandwagon.

Just popped on to the HP website to pick up a printer, and trying to get my head around whether I want an Envy, OfficeJet, Tango or DeskJet. Why don't they make it easy?

Works well, the instant ink cartridges last ages which shows how empty and what a waste the standard ones are. I guess hp make more out of it and have a steady income and there is a saving to consumers as there is no wholesale costs and markup in the mix

I've just signed up for it, the free option, and they immediately sent me out replacement cartridges as mine were getting low (very infrequent use) so, so far so good. The best bit is they give you a bag to put your empty cartridges in for recycling or reusing, so I stuffed in about three lots worth of cartridges that I've been storing up as I wasn't sure how to dispose of them properly.
