I quite like the look of Howies new Ventile Jacket:

not sure anyone can afford them. wait six months and they'll sell them off cheap.

I've got an old Howies Ventile Pilot jacket.

I really like it. Looks like cotton, feels like cotton but is totally waterproof

I wouldn't use it for any extreme outdoor stuff eg up a Scottish mountain in winter. But as a fairly casual jacket that will keep you dry they are great.

Do they breathe well when dry eg better than a GTX shell?
