Morning All

having recently joined the android nation and being something of a ludite I wondered how you go about putting a map onto an SD card so you can use it while out and about? Is it as simple as uploading something like a .gpx file onto the card and if so what app would I use to read it? As I understand it its better to have the maps on a card so you have fairly quick acces to them and dont have to download them via mobile net when you need them. Ish

Its a HTC Wildfire btw.

I use Rmaps for offline maps (you use the map window to browse the area of interest before setting out).I think the file has to be put into a particular directory, to allow it to work.

Have also used Google Maps itself - you upload the GPX file to your google account online (into 'My Maps'), then load it into the GoogleMaps app. on the phone as a map layer.
