My Mrs has scanned 19 pages of an assignment, page by page, on a pretty basic old scanner, as jpegs and then assembled them all into a single PDF. The resulting file is 5.4mb. The file size limit for submitting the assignment is 4mb.
So the options are, I guess:
- rescan it all again at a lower resolution (which shed like to avoid, obviously)
- resave the existing jpegs at a lower resolution [b](if so, how? She's on a work laptop so will only have basic tools)[/b] and collate them into a pdf again
- resave the existing pdf at a lower resolution [b](if so, how? She has Adobe Standard)[/b]
The scanner can't scan straight to PDF, nor collate multiple sheets into one image/scan.
Any help?
You can resize jpegs with MS Paint. Nearly all Windows PCs have it. Have a look under Accessories.
If you MS Office installed you may have Office Photo Manager installed and it is very easy to do the whole batch in one go with that.

You can also try in Acrobat:
File > save as > reduce file size.
