You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I have some tickets for a festival happening this weekend. There is a no-refund policy and it looks as if the extra insurance was not worth the paper/screen it was written on.
There is a statement on the website that says you can sell tickets and they are electronic and not named so I am thinking this might recoup some of the cost.
However, how do I safely sell them? Do I use/ask for Paypal? If so, do I insist on the dreaded friends and family so that I don't get reverse scammed?
NB - I'm an honest bloke just trying to get some cash back, not trying to do anything dodgy. Details left a bit vague as I suspect I am close to breaking forum rules about advertising/selling. If I have broken the rules and this gets deleted - Sorry Admin!
There should be an area on the Efestivals forum website for that specific festival. Probably already a thread about tickets for the festival if it is sold out.
Register. Put details on there, being very open and honest, inviting people to DM you so that you can speak over the phone/video call to reassure them that you are a genuine, honest person and not out to scam anyone. People will probably be understandably suspicious with you posting from a new account. Message the moderators if required.
Arrange to meet face to face to exchange cash andv ticket.
Twickets? I bought a ticket for a sold out gig the other week. It was an electronic one. It worked even though it didn’t have my name on. Paid face value plus an admin fee
There is no official route to resell tickets, they point you towards an unofficial Facebook page that has been running for over a year. I am now a member and can see people selling them for about 50% off. I assume that is because of the potential risk of selling second hand when they are still available direct (not sold out)
Cash on handover could still be a bit nerve wracking, I don't have a history of checking for fakes...
I will have a look at Twickets...
It's not Leeds or Reading is it? It it is then Ticketmaster have a reselling function on the website. To be honest, people are unlikely to buy them from you if they're still readily available.
Ticketmaster also quoted the no refund policy at me just before issuing a refund the day after RATM cancelled. It must have been the polite way that I asked.
@sharkattack Not Reading or Leeds, more 'family friendly' and there have not been any big cancellations so they are not in the same position as Reading/Leeds
I have a sniff for one of them on Facebook. They want to use PayPal, but not friends or family.... Lets roll the dice....
I recently resold some GnR tickets back through Ticketmaster for face value and some through StubHub, where you can set your own price. Both went without a hitch.
Everyone re-selling y-not festival tickets seemed to be doing it on Twickets
Festivals like Greenman and End Of The Road have a means to resell tickets, but theirs sell out within a month or so of going on sale, so there’s no shortage of demand for spare tickets.
