Any good tips on how to absorb and remember things...my memory is terrible...

Basically I'm researching a subject for a wee little 5min or so chat...and i dont think having notes would be a good idea...how do you organise the brain?! 😉

say things out loud - draw pictures of what you want to remember

Word memory champ came to my school about 13 years ago.

He said it was all about association for him. So I suppose your talk would be best drawn as a timeline of memorable images then just pad around them.

Write out a set of relevant questions and answers, turn over the answers so you can't see them. Now try answer the questions without peeking at the answers.
Then go away for a cup of tea, and come back and try again to see if you can do it having had a break away from the subject.

I find life's more interesting if I can't remember things from one minute to the next. Keeps things fresh and exciting

Write it down three times, say it out loud three times, while standing up.

Physical memory is just as important as mental memory.

If that's no good, try some form of association. (not football association)

a smart phone and the ability to keep notes on has been a life saver for me, no more lost lists of stuff to do.... note it in asap, otherwise its gone..

Trouble is those lists never seem to get any shorter (losing them was a bonus sometimes).
