Our conservatory is in need of some tlc. Except I’ve never done wood like this before.
How do you sand it down to the wood, what do you re treat it with?
Can we do it in stages or will it look blocky? Is it just easier to pay someone to do it?
Thanks

Some sloppy detailing there such as not hacking off a stip of render and putting in a stepped flashing instead of the cover flashing. More work of course and need to detail a rain lip.
Original downpipe appears to have been cut with a hacksaw. Does it overflow there during heavy rain?
Thanks rydster we only moved in last year.
Any advice on the retreating ?
Not totally sure but different woods require different treatments. You'd only really sand it down to remove old varnish or paint before applying new. If the wood is splitting or rotting then you either replace all the frame or splice repair. Hardwoods are often just oiled or stained. Definitely don't just slap some random paint on it. That may not be appropriate by sealing moisture in.
Can you see who made the original frames/windows? I see a logo on the glazing. They may be able to recommend how to refurnish.
Sand it.. then apply sikkens in the colour of choice
