How to measure a run?

Yesterday, my daughter suddenly decided to go out for a cross-country run and I'd like to measure it (just out of idle curiosity). Obviously, next time she goes she could take my phone with her and Strava it, but it could be months before she does it again!

(If my guesstimate is correct, and considering she isn't a runner, she's bloody quick)

Strava build a route? Or OS route builder or another route builder?

I am currently unable to run 🙁 – I can't get over an injury I got over a year ago (although I am just about to try a *short* run this weekend to see how it goes).

So - I have measured it and my guesstimate was almost exactly correct - I estimated 3 miles and it was 3.02 miles! So not at all bad - approx 25 minutes for a run that was around 50% off-road with some tricky terrain. Not bad for a 14 yr old girl who doesn't really do any distance running (she usually represents her school in middle-distance). Go girl!

Unless its improved a lot - its probably quicker and easier to take your phone and go walk/run the route yourself!  The google tool was good for straight lines but anything wiggly not so much.

Yes, it is very frustrating. She's gonna absolutely smash me when I eventually do get to go out and run with her (she's been able to out-sprint me since she was about 8 years old, but I always had the distance ability). Me? Competitive? Nah LOL!

Just add more clicks at shorter distances round the bends.
