Vimeo and YouTube both have the rights management net on them now so i can't get the pootle videos up and online easily. Is there any way I can share them?

Just dont use ripped off music! There's plenty of OK soundtrack music out there for free. Vimeo even have their own music store were you can get tracks. I get then from Vimeo then post on Youtube and its fine! Or host it on Facebook?

Youtube has loads, of not shit, copyright free music you can use.

Just add it via the video manager:

Interested in the legality of using copyrighted music on personal videos.

My limited knowledge of copyright suggests it shouldn't be a problem. Does the issue arise because video sites like Youtube and Vimeo sell adverts against their page views?

@chakaping well they are not personal once they're uploaded to youtube. Only use them on your own devices is probably fair use like putting copies of mp3s on your iPod.

Of course your photos are "personal", as is any of your own music you create.

You own the copyright if any on your own photos so you can do what you like with then, you don't however own the copyright on Kylie's Locomotion (or whatever you choose)

Vimeo also has a music library that has some good stuff in it.

So how about if I post a picture of myself holding a print of an artwork by somebody else, which I purchased?

You can say if you don't get it. It's OK.
