Similar to the F1 thread a little while ago, I know nothing about MotoGP (apart from the names Rossi and Marquez) and I've ended up with a ticket to next weekend's race at Silverstone.  We're in Village B so should have a view of a few corners plus a big screen.

Any tips to make the most of it?  Any newbie mistakes to avoid?

Friends band are playing on the Friday night on the Craft Beer stage(?) I think it is.

Other than that, nothing useful to add.

Pass the ticket on. Watch on BT Sport.

Seriously... I've been a few times and have sworn to never go back (last visit was the rained off comedy show). Treated like lowlife, can't see much of the racing, expensive blah.

Even better… it’s on live on ITV this Sunday.

Awesome! Village B should be great - you'll see much of the opening lap chaos, should be some good dicing, and imaginevthete'll be a big screen so you can see what's going on elsewhere. Be prepared for heat and cold, and take a radio with earphones so you can listen to the excellent circuit commentary - much more engaging when you know what's going on. If you're there Friday and/or Saturday, spend some time pottering around the circuit. Enjoy! 🙂

Basically you will end up watching it on a big screen and listening to it on the radio. As you are so far removed from the track and have such a small view its not that an immersive experience. I've been to a couple and wouldn't bother again. I found the smaller tracks like Cadwell Park were better as you can wonder round the pits and get close to the action.

But, you have a ticket and assuming you don't sell it on, bring an umbrella that doubles as a seat, some warm / hot / cold / waterproof kit and good walking boots. Oh, and money for beer and a bottle to pee into 🙂

I liked standing at Luffields so you can see them go round Woodcote. You can appreicate their acceleration and speed from there.

And Club is pretty good too.

Silverstone is not a great track for spectators. Its all too flat.

Going on Friday to experience them and will watch the race on tv.
Standing by Maggots and Becketss is the best bit to watch from imo.

Cheers all. Weather looks good so hopefully no rain, although I gather it's often quite windy there.

I've got a few days left to watch highlights on YouTube so I can pick someone to root for!
