I'm pretty handy in the kitchen and I like trying lots of different things, the problem I have is I forget what exists when it comes to shop day, leaving a craply stocked kitchen making what I cook more limited.

do any of you guys have tips for what you get every week like
mince meat and potatoes because of ....

or are you as last minute and sporadic as me in the supermarket and hope that the items you bought will make 7 interesting meals and not cost the earth?

Try writing down a list of all your favourite foods:
The ones you like to cook and for which ingredients are readily available from the Supermarket.

I've been doing this for years. When my tastes change, I simply cross out the name of the foodstuff I no longer like and add in a different one.

I call it a shopping list.

You may scoff and call me a crazy radical, but it works for me 🙂

10 decent ingredients:

1. Proper decent olive oil
2. Proper decent parmesan
3. Proper decent pasta
4. Proper decent arborio rice
5. Proper decent vegatable or chicken stock
6. A nice block of salted butter
7. Passata

then f-ck off out of the supermarket and get

8. Fresh herbs - dill, chives, parsley, mint, basil & coriander as a bare minimum
9. Seasonal veg from your local shop or via a veg box scheme
10. 2 or 3 cuts of really decent meat/fish from your best local butcher/fishmonger

jeez I'm hungry now

Do your shopping online at somewhere like Tesco then you can go through your favourites each shop.
