Babybgoode has discovered the delights of YouTube and whilst his choice of material is generally suitable there's a couple of people is rather he doesn't see.
He is always logged in under my account so I have total control so how to I block specific channels / content?
On the homepage feed there should be dots beside each suggestion which when clicked should allow you to say that you don't like it. Just work your way through that.
Also possible that the wee one has subscribed to that person. You can unsubscribe people as well.
Also can help to clear the history as well ... That will stop existing stuff appearing.
Its not much of a control, he can just log out and continue watching...
Also ....
Here's how to block someone on YouTube.
Log into your YouTube account. ...
Go to the profile of the offending person by clicking his or her name wherever it appears in YouTube. ...
Click About from the list of options under their name.
Hit the flag icon at the top.
Select Block User.
Probably better to use youtube kids. Although Elsa Gate and the Finger Family make for ....interesting viewing.
The only way I have found to reliably block an entire channel is with an add-on in Firefox called Video Blocker. I used it to block GMBN, they really piss me off.
EDIT: It works for the whole browser regardless of Youtube accounts.
Thanks all. I feed tried the block user but for some reason it still comes up. I'll fiddle further.

He does not yet know how to luckily. I will investigate some parental controls at some point. I'm loathe to do so preferring educating him about what is and isn't acceptable but I'd like a back up plan 🙂

Problem is this is on a tablet via the YouTube app.
How old? Sweajnr uses YouTube kids and it (based on past viewing) shows him Paw Patrol / Thomas etc.
5 - he has YouTube kids but this channel shows up for some reason. It's almost ok but I'd rather him not see people modify Nerf darts with drawing pins to pop balloons etc.
Depending on what tablet you've got, maybe set up a user account (for the tablet, not youtube) for your kid. We do this with ours, he has access to about a dozen games and the Youtube Kids app, but effectively zero permissions for pretty much anything. We still keep an eye out when he's on youtube kids, as above the odd dodgy vid still makes it through. So far I've only seen stuff that's just... weird though, rather than inappropriate.
Anyway, this is probably easier than blocking individual channels on the full app.
