Met a Bull Terrier called Goose last night ?!?

Getting an Aussie Labradoodle I wanted Cobber or Shelia.... but after much discussion around the diner table, many times, our 13 year old daughter came up with Oakley which stuck a chord with all of us.

So just keep discussing it, something will come up that you both like.

Maybe ask friends or family for their ideas, so that it isn't one or the other of you that has thought/chosen the name.

Good luck

Bit lame but we always had roughly descriptive colour names for our dogs growing up (Amber for the Golden Retriever and Dusty & Misty for harlequin Great Danes), def pick something you're happy shouting in public though :p

Mate of mine named his dog Wordsworth. His painfully middle-class partner wholly approved of naming him after a romantic poet.

She to this day, some 20 years on, remains oblivious to the fact that he was in fact named after the dog in Jamie and the Magic Torch.

How could it be anything else but Jarvis Cocker? 🤷‍♂️

That is glorious.

For this forum, I'd have thought Joe would be more appropriate. Wonder how he's doing these days?

Past childhood dogs were,
Kim - Black Lab
Pete - Cocker Spaniel
Misty - English Setter
Brie - English Pointer

As an adult I've had
Toby - Border Collie (I'm sticking with gundogs after that mad bugger lol)
Leo - GSP (although he was rehomed and came with the name)
Bruar - GWPxGSP

Definitely a Bruar 🙂

Both our two are Cockers; Idris after the dragon in Ivor the Engine, and Merlin after the RR engine. Both full of energy and so loving it’s daft.

Have a look on any one of the numerous dog rehoming pages online. Look at all the names there.

Then pick something that is NOT one of those names! The same ones crop up again and again. Particularly on Staffies which are often called Bruno or Tyson.

Beti.

She came from the rescue centre as a Betty and in Basque Beti means Forever (my wife is Basque).

But that probably doesn’t help you.

Mine came from Spain originally and now back there(dog not wife).

Just look at whats on the table...Estrella

(She was called lizzie as she was brought to a the dog rescue centre on the Queens birthday or jubilee or something, after being found on the road as a puppy with her mother who had just been ran over - even got a mention on a royal tweet)

Put them on a photo hosting site that isn't Flickr. Copy the link.

Nothing in and of itself, it's a brilliant photo hosting site. It's just obtuse to get embeddable links out of it which work with STW, its raison d'etre isn't a photo sharing site across the web in that sort of sense. It's possible to do but for someone who "can't figure it out" there are many far simpler options.

You tried lately?
Obtuse to click share then copy link and paste it here?

Do the other simpler sites do it for you by thougth alone? 🙂

Make sure its a name you can remember because if you ever forget a Microsoft password and have to change it you have to kill the pet.
It's the law.

As a kid we were given the task the only stipulation was that my Dad didn't want a name that you were likely to hear being shouted in the local park. We ended up with a dog called Donut. Maybe it was coincidence but the name seemed to suit her personality perfectly.

I can give you those^^^

but the moment I click on the insert/edit image tag, paste the link all I get is a little box with no pic; I'm not totally computer illiterate! Maybe its because I'm on a chromebook. 🙁

Edit - works, but doesn't how in the preview 🙂

Cover your eyes and step outside. Uncover your eyes and name the dog after the first thing you see.

Ahh, why do you ask how we do the naming ritual Twodogsfu… ?

The originals probably a can of worms 🙂
