It may well fit you nicely, but I bet it don't look right!

I've met dozens of people when out on the bike. Most have commented on how in proportion it looks. Most hadn't realised it was even a 29er because it looks right. Not the best pic, but it looks just like a FS mountain bike with a longish seatpost:

I think 29ers best point for many tall people isn't any BS about bigger wheels suiting taller people better but simply that the bikes look in proportion.

Most people don't realise that my bike is a 29er because proportionally it looks like a 26" one (except for the -ve rise stem, I guess).

Another member of the TSTW club! Does seem to be a disproportionate amount of tall people here though. Or are we all making it up?

Photos?

Considering the 29er thang, but only because it does seem that the proportions are more appropriate for those who are vertically challenged in a different way.

And those Sultans do look awfully nice 😉

Meh...no sideview? You're cheating! To be fair, considering its size, it's got as gate-ish as it could be...seen much worse.

FFS - Gok Rusty isn't sure whether it looks out of proportion to him!

Here it was first built up - still looks like a FS bike with a lot of seat tube:

Arrghh...as I suspected! There may be many advantages in being tall, but owning pretty bikes ain't one of 'em!

An awful lot of very tall people on here !

5'10" 12st10 ( work in progress to get back to before I stopped smoking)
32 waist ( ...has been this for the last 30 years)

I blame a working class up-bringing in a deprived northern mill town. 😉

...feeling distinctly under tall !

Five foot nine-and-a-half inches.

The half inch is important.

I used to be 5' 10", but I've a knackered neck, so I've shrunk.

I am 6' 1" if i'm lucky,

And about 9 stone 8 on a good day.

I have the racing snake road bike physique, but sadly no interest in that side of bikes.

5' 4"
8.5 stone
Monkey arms and skinny legs though, so not in proportion.

short enough for someone on here to suggest that I would look like a kid riding his dad's bike if I bought a 29er

Oh well. If the worst I have to suffer for riding a superb bike is a short angry man whom I'll never meet telling me on the internet that he doesn't like how it looks, I'm OK with that.

I am 185cm and thought I was above average.... never mind! My wife's family all played top-class basketball in Germany - the father in law is 2.02M and he has introduced me to people who are 2.15M tall - I feel like a little kid!

A small tall 6'4. Good views but crap for hide and seek. And the number of times i've cracked my head on things isn't even funny. God knows how the taller lads cope.

Gotta be a shorty. That's why he doesn't like jeans. It's OK flashy, turnups are in fashion now.

He strikes me as the sort of (short) chap who would have his tailor run up trousers that didn't require turning up. As for 'De Nimes' being the Devil's Cloth - there were many London District regiments who held that belief and forbade anyone from wearing it. However, I doubt the Flashmeister was ever tall enough for the Guards 😀
