They are embedded basically like a calendar event and saying I have won an iPhone... With a dodgy looking link to click on to "claim" it.
Never, ever had this before.
This is on Android though I expect they will be embed on the Windows PC too as it's all synced obviously.
How odd. You say "like an event", can you edit them as if they were an event?
Edit: Importantly the event was an invite.
So, looks like you have to turn off a setting to ftp gmail events being Auto added.
Being such a simple way to spam people, I'm still surprised this hasn't happened to me before?

As above really, they are invites and allowing for the settings working calender can basically add themselves.
I've decided to leave that setting on as I've never had issues before and it is handy occasionally.
For the moment I've just deleted the spam.👍
It's not *hugely* common but it is a thing, yes. It's an emailed event invite, but spammed. Super annoying.
Learn something new every day.
Constant arms race that it is.
