Put in a decent 5 weeks training, trying to lose a bit of weight and get a bit quicker 😉

Do feel like I need an easier week, on Saturday my legs were feeling it although my HR was down?

Summary of last 5 weeks with sessions a mix of 3 or 4 bike a week, 1 or 2 weights sessions a week and 1 rpm/spinning class.

Week 1, 5 Sessions, 13hr Training, 156 miles cycled
Week 2, 7 Sessions, 10hr 50min Training, 112 miles cycled
Week 3, 7 Sessions, 12hr 20min Training, 148 miles cycled
Week 4, 8 Sessions, 13hr 50min Training, 155 miles cycled
Week 5, 6 Sessions, 12hrs Training, 116 miles cycled

All of these weeks have included a rest day, I usually double up my rpm class with weights after and the 8 session week included a pilates class, just to prove to the Mrs that I could do it 😀

So how much should I do this week on my easy week?

Depends how much you have been doing. I'm on an easy week just now, but my training plan for this week is 9hr 45! My easy week has my active recovery sessions in zone 1 rather than zone 2 and the time (but not intensity) of some session cut down and 2 sessions as normal.

Edit, only the first line of your post was showing when i first looked at it! Looks like you have been doing similar hours to me - i'm up around 14hrs by comparision. I'd include some active recovery sessions and a proper rest day (stay off your feet as much as poss during that day). But i'm sure TSY will be along soon to tell you that you don't need to rest 😛

I've been building up to 13/14 hours. Can't see any further ahead than this week as my coach is on hols. I've usually got about 5-6 sessions of cycling per week and i try to do 2 weights sessions as well but don't always manage to do everything in the plan if my resting hr is up. But i'm building/resting around race dates so that will influence my rest weeks etc.

The only thing i can really say is make sure you active recovery sessions are easy....i'll have to be on the rollers to sit in zone 1!

TSY is banned but he asked me to tell you to MTFU. 🙂

OVERTRAINING, you need an easy week - a couple of light spins. If you've jumped up to that level suddenly you'll probably make yourself unwell unless you rest then go back down to what you were doing.

This stuff is HARD on your body, and you can't make a huge jump in 5 weeks, you need a progressive schedule.
