I took mine into a local 'Unlock your phone' type of telephone shop in town - left it with them whilst I got lunch and did some shopping, collected it an hour later and it cost me £50.

I then threw someone on it and chipped the new bloody screen about 2 weeks later 😥

Shazam, I was upto my elbows in

So who whats want, a 2nd gen ipad digitizer and a 4s battery?

The battery I would honestly say DIY, I can recommend you an ebay seller if you wish, it is very easy and not worth the postage cost. I can talk you through it, 4 screws and a little clip.

ipad digitizer £35 inc rmrd or £39 inc rmsd. Theyre good quality digitizers and i'll happily guarantee my work

The best of the budget batteries ive come across, theyve sold lots (>2k) and good feedback on them across the board.

https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPhone+4S+Battery+Replacement/7111

Just note the orientation of the two screws and keep an eye on the grounding clip when you flick the connector up. To do this I recommend bottom left hand corner and just flicking the lip up and right with finger nail. That way virtually 0 chance of whipping the battery connector off the main board.

Replacing an iphone screen is much like making love to a beautiful woman. Firstly you start at the top and work your way down. You gently caress the edges before finally driving the end home. Be sure not to force it if it feels too tight. If it does, remove, reposition and try once more.

Au naturale all the way.

It's Ok after 24 hours I was ready to go again and I was much more gentle.

Minis are more because the IC chip is attached to the display ribbon, you can buy the digitizer without cheaper but theyre a sod to solder off and on. Easier to buy one with IC attached.

£47 or 51 delivery dependant.

If the phones sent with the ipad £9 all in

Cheers all

Cheers for the advise Wysiwyg, battery fitting was a doddle.

EDIT: How do you dispose of the batteries? Local spa's battery recycling box? (would prefer a 'green' option, rather than just the bin and landfill option)

PS: Anyone buying a battery from that link, the tools were interesting, the bottom torx screw driver just about fit but the cross head screw drivers was a waste of time, I used my penknife. Though considering those are 'free' with the battery, I'm not complaining just making you aware

Ha this is timely. I dropped the wife's ipad3 a few weeks ago and smashed the screen. Took it to some guy who charged £60 to replace. It hasn't stuck properly are the corners and now the digitiser has failed.
What will it cost me/ how do I send it to you wysiwyg?

Evening. I have a Facebook page but I only do it as a hobby really.

Has the digitiser totally stopped?

Drop me an email fixerofphones at gmail .com

The batteries, when someone orders a new battery I put the out of the last phone in it 😉

In all seriousness I have boxes of screens one of rears and one of batteries that I will recycle when full

But yes every shop selling batteries has a tub

bugger, they've replied "Because the phone is an old model and running the new IOS, the battery life is shortened." and will only refund. Need another option asap, as I disposed of the old battery..

You can't go back unless you've saved your ssh blobs previously when jail breaking.
