Wow. 28% off. I suppose for the right someone this is a great deal! Luckily for me I am not in a position to be thinking 'should I, shouldn't I, ooh, that is a good deal...' 🙂

£3050 surely?

In these times of austerity every penny counts

Hiya,

I always wondered how you could prove the providence of the whisky? To be honest as a whisky drinker, but no expert expert, I very much doubt I'd notice the difference between the ages of maturity past 15 years.

as a bit of an aside, i think that website just helps show what a good deal the wine society is.

Loch Fyne Whiskey - 1991 Speyside, £725 https://www.lochfynewhiskies.com/connoisseurs-choice-upper-tormore-1991-31-year-old-15381
Wine Society - 1991 Speyside, £120 https://www.thewinesociety.com/product/the-societys-reserve-cask-selection-speyside-single-malt-scotch-whisky-1991-89a671fa

Not entirely comparable I realise, but...

You could almost use the full 6 bottle allowance for the price of one.

Irrelevant, no-one buying that stuff ever drinks it. It's the equivalent of buying art.

It'll sit in a presentation cabinet and the owner will tell everyone they have a £10,000 bottle of whisky.

Carbon dating has been used on whisky to see if its as old as claimed.
Quite a few fail.

*cough* provenance. Unless you view your whisky as a god and are asking it for advice, which, to be fair, some people may well do.
