£8 from the wifes mates salon, usually give her a tenner. Some lads at work pay £20 for what I can see is the same thing in more hipster surroundings. Going thin on top so it'll just be getting clippered off in afew years I'm sure

£13 (three chairs and a barber, Reading) , quality varies depending which person you get.

Where's that then?

I'm in Reading and the missus says I need to get a "proper haircut" not the monthly DIY grade 3 I've had for the last twenty odd years. I have a mate who swears by the Turkish place in Tilehurst, mostly because of their nostril and ear hair burning technique...

Pay? I bought some clippers 30 years ago and haven’t paid since.

That's not a haircut tho.

£15 in a salon in suburban Edinburgh

How many barbers people are going to have card payment machines? The only place I need a pound coin these days is the Tesco trolley and at my barber's, he also seems to have a very small float so I feel guilty when I use half of it at 8:30am on a Saturday morning. Unless you're avoiding tax surely a card machine makes sense for a business whose standard payment is £11?!

This thread is making me see the upsides of being a baldy. I pay roughly £16 a quarter for a pack of blades for the Headblade Moto and shave the whole lot every couple of days whilst in the shower. Beard trim costs £10 at an appointment only barbers and that includes a drink most times. They also take card payment.

13 quid in Hull, including beard shaping and a hot towel shave around the throat. Always give 'em 15 quid. That's at the Turkish place, the slightly fancier place is the same place but you don't get the hot towel. They do have 6 Music in instead of crap telly though, so it's a trade off.

£20 at my vegan barber shop in Exeter. It’s quite hip in a good way so I get to feel down with the kidz.

WTF is a vegan barber?

doesn't use any products that would harm the clients' headlice or disrupt the vibrant ecosystem residing within their greasy locks in any way.

I 19 euros for mine. It’s also a Turkish run barbers/salon. Very hipster so usually lots of men with big beards and lots of tattoos but they do a good cut and you get a typicality hipster free drink included. Most I have ever paid was back in the day in London at trendy salon which was a 100 quid! Did look like a million dollars, though! 😉

There's nowhere near Edinburgh that cuts womens hair for less than £40, and that's for an apprentice. I bought clippers and did my own hair for about 3yrs, saving around £500. The world ain't ready for a woman in her 40's with a skinhead because she doesn't give a **** about commercial beauty standards though, but the Jimmy Krankie comments wore me down 🤣

Last 20 years? A Wahl clipper that cost me £9.99.
Then last month I bought a new Wahl Balding clipper (old clippers still working) that cost me £57.

I cut my hairs twice a month. 😃

Had mine cut yesterday by the young lad who also works with Winny, the bloke who’s shop it is, he did a really good job, beard trim and neck shave as well, for a tenner.
I didn’t even have to wait, straight into the chair. Sorted.

used to work round the corner from the London School of Barbering and visited there regularly for a free trim. never had a bad experience, the pro's always stepped in if the students were struggling.

its where i learnt to appreciate the attention to detail a good barber provides. I now i pay £20 for a haircut (incl tip) in Kingston.

my local barber is good too and will do it for a tenner, but i well CBA wasting my time on a weekend having me barnet chopped. that one in Kingston stays open late so just call in after work.
